Potato Yield Model on show at ‘Potatoes in Practice 2017’

Agrimetrics’ Professor Mario Caccamo is showcasing the Potato Yield Model at the largest field-based potato event in the UK. ‘Potatoes in Practice 2017’ will take place at the James Hutton Institute’s Balruddy Farm, Dundee on 10 August.

Agrimetrics’ Professor Mario Caccamo (NIAB) and Teresa Shutter (SRUC) will be attending ‘Potatoes in Practice 2017’ on Thursday 10 August.

It is the largest field-based potato event in the UK, bringing together variety demonstrations, research and trade exhibits in one place.

The free event is organised and hosted by the James Hutton Institute in partnership with AHDB Potatoes, SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) and Agrii.

The programme – geared towards farmers, agronomists, industry, scientists and policymakers – comprises of several seminars and demonstrations.

Professor Caccamo will showcase the Potato Yield Model (PYM) at the NIAB stand. Enhancements to the NIAB CUF Potato Yield Model were supported by Agrimetrics, enabling farmers to get timely advice about predicted yield and crop value on their smartphones, tablets and other devices.

Potatoes in Practice 2017 will take place from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the James Hutton Institute’s Balruddery Farm in Dundee.
