Agrimetrics welcome the publication of the Environment Improvement Plan
The publication of the Environmental Improvement Plan highlights once again the critical importance of protecting and restoring nature. The health and wellbeing of our planet and our economy are at stake and this plan sets out ambitious targets to ensure we have a thriving environment with all its associated benefits.
The challenge now is to translate ambition into action and the greatest accelerant for that is data. Solving the climate crisis is an interconnected issue which requires collaboration and joined-up thinking. That’s why the availability of relevant and easy to find data is paramount in helping us create effective solutions. Agrimetrics has been working tirelessly for the past seven years to make such data available.
Our recent rewarding of DEFRA’s data service provider (DSP3) contract, where we will host over 4,500 environmental data sets, highlights our growing contribution to this challenge. As we now move into the next stage of solving the nature and climate crisis through the Environmental Improvement Plan, we look forward to playing even more of a key role in helping to secure a sustainable future.
