Microsoft chooses Agrimetrics to participate in its AI for Good programme

Agrimetrics is one of 11 companies selected to work with Microsoft on its unique AI for Good programme. Microsoft have created this programme ‘to put technology, resources and expertise to empower those working to solve humanitarian issues and create a more sustainable world.’

“This is a great endorsement of Agrimetrics capabilities and ambition and a great opportunity for us to work even more closely with Microsoft alongside some of its leading experts and partners”, says Agrimetrics CEO David Flanders.

Agrimetrics is already using AI powered by Microsoft Azure and pioneering the use of cloud technology for the agrifood sector.

The programme, which kicked off earlier this month includes mentoring, access to a range of Microsoft expertise from technical to operational and business issues as well as ‘deep dive’ workshops. At the end of the five-month programme, Agrimetrics will present key actions and insights that are expected to make good on its promise to be a ‘catalyst for change’ for the agrifood sector.

It’s a rare privilege to have access to such a breadth of expertise, says Anna Woodley, head of sales at Agrimetrics who was at the introduction to the programme earlier this month: “The programme offers wide support to just about all the Agrimetrics key functions; from our product and data experts to the way we engage with the market. This is key for Agrimetrics because we need to help educate and engage with a sector that is new to this cutting edge technology. Microsoft has a strong track record of bringing pioneering technology to the market..”
