Driving Innovation in Scottish Agri-Food

Professor Louise Heathwaite PhD, FRSB, FRSE, Chief Scientific Adviser for Rural Affairs and Environment (CSA RAE) to the Scottish Government opened the day, followed by former NFUS President Nigel Miller and Graham Young, Industry Development Director from Scotland Food and Drink who highlighted the issues affecting the sector. Graeme Cook, Director of the Centre for Knowledge Exchange and Impact discussed the benefits of collaboration

The four new Agri-Tech Centres of Innovation in Agriculture were introduced and case studies on Productivity in the Farms of the Future; Food Safety and Security; and Innovation in the Agri-Food sector were presented by: Agri-EPI Centre, Agrimetrics, Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland, Censis, IBioIC, The Rowett Institute, The James Hutton Institute, The Centre for Applied Crop Science, Catapult Satellite Applications, Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre, Innovate UK, CIEL, Moredun Research Institute, Interface, Food & Drink at SRUC.
