Pierre Stratonovitch

Senior Data Scientist
Pierre is a software engineer and ecological modeller working at the Agrimetrics Data Analytics Lab based at Rothamsted Research. He has a solid experience with climate change impact assessments, model calibration and validation, user interfaces and visualisation.

Before joining Agrimetrics, he was a researcher at Rothamsted Research for eight years where he led the software development of the Sirius wheat model, while participating in international crop and climate change impact assessment studies. During that time, he also developed an individual-based model of insect used to evaluate and compare insecticide resistance management strategies.

In 2015, during the course of his employment at Rothamsted Research, Pierre also received his PhD from the University of Reading. Before Rothamsted Research, he worked for one year at INRA (French National Institute for Agricultural Research) on the SiriusQuality crop model following a 6-month internship during his graduation year in 2007 at ISIMA (College of Engineering in Computer Science and Information Technologies).

In his spare time, Pierre enjoys gardening and baking.
