What attracted you to apply? The global food challenge is real. The UN estimates world population to grow from today's 7.8bn to 9.8bn by 2050. Neither industry nor governments have the full answer on how to sustainably feed the growing global population. This is why increasing farming efficiencies is a key enabler to find an answer and this is at the core of Agrimetrics to solving solve global food challenges with data.
What do you think is Agrimetrics's biggest challenge? The biggest challenge lies in the fact that the global food challenge can only be resolved working across industry and government sectors with a long-term mindset and commitment. This is made more difficult by the fact that the agricultural sector is highly fragmented and governments run-in short-term mandates.
And greatest opportunity? An estimated 90% of the data available in the world today has been created in the past two years. This highlights the importance of finding AI solutions to aggregate data from different sources and combining it in a meaningful way. This is the exact space in which we play at Agrimetrics.
